MSU is hosting many events today and through-out the year celebrating MLK and two very important anniversaries in the fight for equality and civil rights. This year is the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act & the 60th anniversary of of Brown vs. Topeka Board of Education Supreme Court case decision.
Thus, this year long initiative is titled the 60/50 initiative. “The intent of the year-long initiative is to link academic exploration and study, public commemoration and remembrance, laced with a multitude of cultural expressions.” (MSU Office of for Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives Website).
Today Lyman Briggs is hosting a Diversity Workshop at 2:00pm. It will start at 2:00pm in C-106 Holmes Hall and HPSSA will be there. Hope to see you!
