Keith Bengtsson (UBC) : John Steinbeck, Ed Ricketts, and the Literary Beginnings of Marine Ecology

Meeting Tonight

In C103 Holmes Hall at 7:00pm tonight Dr. Keith Bengtsson (Benson) will be giving a talk entitled John Steinbeck, Ed Ricketts, and the Literary Beginnings of Marine Ecology.

Bengtsson is a faculty member and historian with the University of British Columbia (Canada). He has also been a professor at the University of Washington and is associated with various History of Science communities including the Columbia History of Science Group, which he founded in 1983.

He has authored and co-edited multiple books and is  a well published historian of science. His research focuses in the history of marine ecology and general American biology, including its European influences.

A portion of our e-board had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Bengtsson at the most recent CHSG conference and this will definitely be a meeting worth attending! This may be your only chance to meet him and view his presentation as he is only here for a short period of time.
